2: To avoid too many argument on political issues. Most of them, very hard to get agreement, tell say right or wrong, so people will keep arguing and fighting (let other site to do this).

1 and 3: These at least can encourage people to write poems, although people may still arguing and fighting on the political issue (actually, this will be good for you, I believe you can write a poem easily before an article, :DDD). People can enjoy your peom and skip the article if they want to.
