At least part of was true although we only read one-side

of the story. I am from Shanghai. In last 10 years, I have been back 5-6 times, most time because my mother was in hospital. In my experience, the doctors' first thought is about money. Even before the fully diagnose, he/she will talk to what are the possible treatments, and will tell you method A (either medicine or diagnose procesure) is imported from US, Japan.. and is better....., method B is Chinese made...
Of course the price has huge difference and the insurance won't cover A. I felt just like in market salesman is pushing you to buy an expensive TV. The worse thing is all the dialog happened when both patient and family present, how could family say we choose B, sounds you are cheap. The doctors(I have a few former classmates) all take kick-back as long as they have chance.
