Go open a checking account in Bank Of America and get their check card (it is a debit card, not credit card. It is linked to your checking account)

Upon arriving China, find any branch of China Construction Bank and use the ATM machine to withdraw RMB. The pass-code is the same as if you are using the card in the US. The exchange rate would float depending on the day when the withdraw happens.

Earlier this year, the limitation per withdraw is 1000 Yuan/transaction, 2000 Yuan/per day. There are no fees charged.
