Violin 'Going Home' Version of Andre Rieu - Dvorak

The song "going home" was actually written after Dvorak's No.9 Symphony of New World was composed. The songwriter was inspired to use his melody. Dvorak's inspiration came from Native American and African spirituals he heard while in America, so your explanation is partially true - while he didn't hear this exact piece, the music he heard inspired it.

By the way, Dvorak didn't write this symphony in Czechoslovakia, he wrote it entirely in the US.
