I have not heard people calling 高岗卖国。Not only Chinese do not like his plan but also other countries, such as Japan would hate it.  It is hard for me to be sympathetic about him because of this.  Only under the background at that time, there were some Chinese leaders, such as him, were dare to say that kind stuff in public.
