I efiled 765 to renew my EAD (C09). However the PDF confirmation was not genrated when clicking the "Finsih" button. Do I have to send any supporting documents (old EAD card, I-485 etc.)?

No, without the efiled verification receipt, USCIS will not accept your support documents to establish your application case. You may have wasted your filing fee already. Call USCIS to see how to solve this issue.
