我是美国公民，今年八月给来探亲的母亲递了绿卡申请，10月25日按过手印后接到通知让12月9日去面试，不知是什么原因，听说给父母申请很少有被面试的，有人有类似的经验吗？

面试之后还要等多长时间才能拿到绿卡？

母亲因祖母生病，已定了12月20日的机票回北京，不知来得及吗？
