Deng's mistake was his thinking that economy will solve all social and political problems/evils. And Deng's miscomprehension and rejection of Mao's theory of Continuing Revolution under Proletariat Dictatorship and Class Struggle. Deng didn't understand why Mao was so against Gurantee Production to Household and Divide Field Individual Work.
