我前阶段H1转成了H4,在没有找到正式工作前,去了一个老年中心做义工,最近他们想配给我一点钱,不用缴税,每周不超过10小时,只告诉他们我的社安号和驾号,给CHECK.请问大侠,我这算不算非法的,移民局会查吗?以后办绿卡时会不会惹麻烦?

-Just wait until Jan. or Feb. 2010 to see whether you receive the Form 1099. If you receive this form, that means they have reported your income to IRS, and USCIS may find it in the future. So, you just need to go out of U.S. (e.g. China) to get an H1 visa to come back to clear the record and thus, you will never have a problem anymore (no more affect your future GC application).

If you do not receive the form 1099, you do not need to worry about it because that means they did not report it to IRS (不用缴税).
