Current status: H1B, on the 3 year extension approved after the first 6 years' H1B expired soon. received labor and I140, PD 09/2007, and I-485等待排期中. 想在公司内部transfer到另外的部门,但工作性质没有大的变化.有两个部门都在考虑;一个在本地,一个在异地.

请问,这个可行么? 本地和异地有多大区别?
-If you just change the department and your responsibilites, job title, and job location (在本地) have no change, you do not need to do anything. But if you change your job location (在异地), you need to ask your employer to file an H1 amendment petition for you.

这会被认为是完全换工作么?

我感觉H1B需要transfer到新的职位;但不清楚这是否适应已经在3年extension情况下.

Labor和I-140需要重新申请么?
-No.

记得在公司内部见过一些印度同事换小组,似乎不记得他们还要重新申请Labor和I-140.
