Urgent Questions

Background Information:

I have EB2 with H1B visa, 485 pending (more than 180 days) with PD: Jan. 2007. I also have EAD
card.

Company A sponsored me for EB2, now Company A is going under, and I have
just accepted a similar position at Company B. Lawyer at Company B is filing
AC21 letter for me and is sending me G-28 form to sign.

However, Company B will not be porting my H-1B. Instead it is asking me to
use EAD. I should say that the job security at Company B is expected to be
good. (But God knows what will happen next year.)

Questions:

(1) Is that better if I ask Company B to port my H1-B visa? Or, I should use
my EAD card as suggested by my new employer?

(2) My spouse is working full time (a very secure job) in Canada. After my
GC, how long does it take him to file to join? Lawyer at Company B says it
may take several years. Is that true?
