As long as your H1B/H4 are not expired, you are ok to go out and come back to US as often as you wish (providing that the trip is relatively short and you have not filed for GC (I485?)). Just remember do NOT surrender your I94 slip when you are leaving US. You are not getting a new visa everytime you come back after a short stay abroard. You date of entry to US is always the first date you entered US on H1B/H4, enven if you left and came back to US since then. H1B is the usual road towards GC. TN usually cannot get you a GC. So you are OK. If there is policy change in last few years, then I don't know.
