The only problem is that those "elites" are self-claimed.

I knew some of those people online or in real life. Common feature: considering highly of themselves, especially in moral ground, and extreme liberals. How do you showcase that? Taking on big and powerful targets, president, administration, "establishments", big and "evil" corporations. If China is still a poor country, those people will show real compassion and do some real work to help you. But since China is a big powerful and fast-developing one, it falls into the category of those big targets as well, so you see more and more bashing from vocal liberals and so-called "elites".

Now, that being said. Those "elites" always fail to lead the society in any movement. They will impact the society in perception, create important critical voices, but due to negativity and the targets they take on, they can't be successful. I don't consider them losers, but they often then not, are out of touch of reality.

Clintons are in politics for so long, and they survived all those mudsling and dirty political games, for they are not afraid to get dirty either, but they are realistic enough to reach compromises to get things done. That's really anti-liberal. Although Bill is the only Dem president in last 20 years, but those "pure" liberals hate him much more than GOPs do him.

It's show perfectly in the media bias and unscrutinizing. They are on a crusade to crush Hillary while giving Obama a free pass, especially MSNBC and CNN. The only problem with that, Obama can beat Hillary with that, while her hands are tied to play nice, which isn't her game. However, can Obama survive the GOP campaign machine? Not a chance. His stance in abortion and immediate withdraw from Iraq are not going to cut well with general public, despite the support of "elites". His not so clean history with corruption, his inexperience, his disingenuous acts in senate votings etc etc.

We might end up with McCain, an economic moron.

In short, the "elites" normally are not too sure what they want, they are too fixed with the self-delusion of high moral standard, and forget about the fact - in politics or real life involving human, it's always about what less evil you want, not about what saint you want.
