You'd better to read again to have a better understanding since it is clearly stated on the USCIS website.

Step 1: Tell you to file a change of address online if you do not have PENDING cases with USCIS. For instance, someone got green card already, s/he will move. S/he needs to file online AR 11 for change of address, and this is Step 1. This is for everyone who is not U.S. citizen.
Step 2: If you plan to move, but you have PENDING cases with USCIS like your 485 pending, you need file Step 1 and Step 2. Step 2 will let you update your address which links to your specific cases, like your pending 485, EAD, AP or even H1/H4, etc.

In your case, you need do both step1 and step 2.
