用H1B 工作, 拿到绿卡后需要做什么

大家好. 我现在是一个博士后, H1B 到今年十月底到期, 到期后准备换工作. 我的绿卡今年五月底批准. 我现在不知道是否需要告知系里我的绿卡已经批准, 或者我可以继续用H1B到十月底走人. 有人熟悉这件事情的话, 敬请告知. 不胜感谢.
