Tell him honestly, he at least needs to contribute $3000, and you will contribute $3000 too. (You must stop to bank all your money into the joint accounts, immediately). Believe me, it will work. But you must be tough - remember, be tough!

If he insists to contribute $1000 only, then tell him you will leave only $1000 in the joint accounts too. Let the bank to take over the houses.
