Re-post for advices - Misdemeanor Conviction & impact to I485

Thank you for the responses. Here is the complete story, and I desperately wait for as many advices as possible and help me going thru the most difficult time in my life. Thank you all in advance.

Actually I didn't steal anything. We had few friends shopping together, and I was helping others carrying bags. Since I feel so boring, I just went out of the store to wait, but forgot there are someone's shopping bags in my hand. I was treated as Shoplifting and arrested by the policeman, took photo and fingerprint. I became theft without even intend.

I will look for a lawyer and fight the legal right. But at the meantime, I have to prepare for the worst. That is the most possible negative impact for the GC, because I485 was just filed at begging of July.

I am so concerned that this will have a permanent record and ruin my life and the family membrane life, if I am convicted.

My question is that:

1) If I am convicted, what will be the chance that I will be denied for the status adjustment or I485 granted?
2) Does this also impact the other members in the family?
3) What will be the difference if I plea or not plea guilty? I mean the impact to
the I485?
