BTW, Air and Space Museum does not belong to the Arm Forces. It belongs to Smithsonian Institution which owns 19 museums and 9 research centers - all started from an unexpected bequest of an British scientist, James Smithson. Thanks to him, and the U.S. Government, we now have great museums in DC that are all free.

If you live in NYC, FLL, SAN, SFO, etc once a year these towns have Fleet Week - during which period, there are active military ships visiting the town for the week and some of the ships are open for citizens to visit. The crew then at the same time get to enjoy the city for some R&R. The activities stopped for a couple years after 911, but have since resumed. I went one year on our town's Fleet Week. It was an exciting experience.
