Hiking GPS is another matter - totally different from the drivin

The handhelds specially designed for wilderness hiking is hardly the same as the one used for driving.

The starter model of the former is much cheaper. Also there is a need for the former if one is in total wilderness. There is not necessarily a need for the latter.

In Sept, we drove many country roads (many of them are single lane roads) thru Scotland, from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, thru the Highlands to the other side and down the Loches, onto Glasgow, down The Lake District and finally reached Liverpool for our flight to Paris. On top of that, UK is "driving on the left" - the opposite of here. We had only ONE AAA map of UK. LG refused to get another more detailed map when we were in London, said the AAA map was enough. He was right. We did it with very minor glitches. :)

Now I can imagine how "Golden Gun" would feel when he comes over here next year and has to "drive on the right". hehehe.
