at Aruba, a Caribbean island - it is in their version of National Park - to get to the sea at the other side of the island, you drive over a very rugged mountain - there is no trail, just tire tracks and the rocks are much aharper than those shown here.

We should have rented a Wrangler or a Suzuki Jeep - about the only rentals that have high enough clearance - but all the Wrangler there are open top - with the Caribbean sun and no AC, we decided to rent a Daihatsu 4x4 (Hertz has only this type available anyway). Big mistake. We almost had a major accident. At some point we were trapped between rocks we had to floorboard it a few times to get out. The tires were so overheated by friction that they smoked. Scared us to hell. It was so scary we only focused on how to get out of danger and totally forgot about to film our disaster.

if there're tire tracks, it's called a trail, however -moab- 给 moab 发送悄悄话 moab 的博客首页 (86 bytes) () 12/02/2006 postreply 22:29:36
