Go to the following website for St Helen:
http://www.nwsource.com/outdoors/hiking/
You can view hiking trails by their ratings in each region.
wta.org and vtrail.com also are good sources for WA hikes. Not sure about Mt Hood.
I personally do not care much about St Helen hikes, especially if you travel to Northwest just to hike. The best hikes in Wa are in North Cascade/Mt Baker area, along hwy 542 & Hwy 20. Mt Rainier has great hikes in September, with alpine meadows changing color in Sept. My all time favorites are Olympic National Park beach hikes. Cascade Pass/Sahale Arm is also an absolute best.
