This is one of our most favorite spots in SoCal.
We dropped by each time we passed thru LA, if we had 2 to 3 days time ... The general exhibits are so so, but the special events are almost always interesting. One time we saw an exhibit about the hand-painted bibles used in Byzantine times with all those gold leaves and vivid blue and red and green colors, and the various pens and types of paper to make them ...
The Architecture, the Gardens and the Furnitures... they are artworks themselves.
The staff is amazing. The Cafe is the most reasonably priced in all museums we visited. It is such a joy to have lunch on the Terrace - you took a very good picture of the Terrace, BTW.
Thanks for sharing the pictures - it reminds me our good time. :-)
