Why not rent a car in the city before leaving

for Yosemite. Plenty of rental car places in the city. It's easier without a car inside San Francisco. Parking the car can cost twice as much as your rental. If you are not used to driving inside San Francisco, all the one way and no-left-turn streets (not to mention the steep 60 degree hills) will get you lost.
