To see real Mexico, the Capital should be the #1 choice (at least 4-6 days, including Teotihuacan, Museum, the world largest Bullfight Ring, Zocalo, Xochimilco.. ). To see Mayan site, you probably have to fly to Merida, or Cancun. It may be worth visiting the beaches in Cancun, which is said to be made of coral powder, because you do not feel hot with barefoot. Other interesting cities include, Puebla (we stayed in hotel which was part of a WHS), Veracruz, Tasco, Alcapolco (to see the rock divers since 1934). Stay away from Americanized places..
