can walk 2 beach, restaurants, GG view & Pier 39. It's touristy but at least you have activities at night. Hotels here are not as fancy as union square & financial district hotels but you have the activities at night. Hyatt, Hilton, are Marriott are all within one block of each other. Hyatt in a little nicer of the 3. For better Chinese restaurants, you have to go out to the avenues in Richmond on Clement & Geary Streets (38 bus on Geary near Union Square can take you there).
