After crossing the bridge, Pictured Rock National Lakeshore is worth a visit with a half day cruise.
The single national park in MI, Isle Royale, is almost impossible to access: too remote, no vehicles allowed. It supports an ecosystem balanced by moose and wolves.
If you continue to Minnesota, it is cannoe/kayak heaven.
