of course either for visit or TN, you need prove the the stay is temporary and you have ties with Canada, such as bank account,etc. It's a matter of discretion. I see postings that people try another port of entry and then get it. But if they threaten to confiscate you car and detain you, that's abuse of power. If that indeed happen, you can find your congressman to help.
