For single persons or couples without kids, they probably get better deals by bidding on the net.
For families with school-aged kids, you know you have to take a vacation, it has to be in the high season, in that case TS makes sense. Another situation is for families with infants. Compared with hotel rooms or suites, time share units are more like home with it's fridge and cooking facility. It takes some planning to make the best of it, though. For example, if you have a time share that exchanges within RCI, typically they only go by a full week. You need to know what to do for this whole week. Also advance booking is required for the popular spots.
