Like you, I also live in US for more than half of my life. I should be more American and Chinese, but I am not. For a time, I was because I was very young (teenager) then as I slowly came to know US throughout all of these years, I have to agree that US is moving more and more away from democracy like they intended to in the constitution. I feel sad really. I hope China would find its own "democracy" in time.
