请教法居士,I140/485 processing time

I submitted my I140/485 at the same time last year, 10/10/2003.
I called CVS center today , they said they are working on 12/29/2003 file, and
they don't have any information on my file yet. Is thst usual?
I heard the rumor is if you submit 140/485 at the same, it will take longer because they have to approve the 485 at the same? But I485 already work the date od December!!!
My lawyer told me that will follow up with the immigration office every wednesday, but it has been two weeks already, still no any answer. If like this, what am I supposed to do?
