I used priceline.com a few times for air tickets. I got $250 from CA to Haiwaii once ($550 full price) and $60/night for $230 hotel, $30/night for Hilton hotel in downtown Philadelphia. If you do not care about the time, you should be able to get 50% discount during winter season. Remember once your price got accepted, you have to take it.
