1. Contract Position: Solar Engineer

 Job Overview:

The Project Engineer works under the direct supervision of the Sr. Project Manager to complete preliminary and detailed renewable power analysis and design for public sector clients, such as public school district, throughout Northern California. Main office is in Downtown San Francisco with work offices in San Jose and Sacramento.

Key Responsibilities:

•Perform preliminary solar site surveys.
•Perform detailed solar site analysis. Calculate potential generation utilizing PVSyst modeling tool.
•Perform utility rate analysis scenarios for potential energy and cost savings.
•Perform preliminary solar design.
•Work with engineering partner to complete final solar designs.
• Review mechanical, structural and electrical drawings.
• Provide necessary information needed to secure project incentives, grants, permits, and/or interconnection agreements.
•Local Travel or Day Trip is required for this position and may be up to 10% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

•Bachelors Degree in Engineering (ME or EE) from an accredited college or university is required
• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience and technical training in Renewal Solar Energy
• A California Professional Engineering license is preferred
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills along strong time management skills.
•Proficient computer skills including basic knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.

The Energy Engineer works under the direct supervision of the Sr. Project Manager to complete preliminary and detailed energy efficiency and renewable power analysis for public sector clients, such as public school district, throughout Northern California. Main office is in Downtown San Francisco with work offices in San Jose and Sacramento.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform facility surveys on existing energy-using equipment, and evaluate equipment for potential renewable energy integration.
• Review record mechanical, structural and electrical drawings.
• Perform detailed energy conservation measure analysis. Calculate potential energy cost savings.
• Perform utility rate analysis scenarios for potential energy and cost savings.
• Provide preliminary equipment specification and design.
• Write scopes of work for subcontractor Request for Proposal (RFP) process and work orders.
• Provide necessary information needed to secure project incentives and grants.
• Local Travel or Day Trip in Northern California is required for this position and may be up to 10% of the time. Overnight travel is occasionally required.
