Srinivasa RamanujanJeremy Irons

G.H.Hardy (married only with his work) (Cast: Jeremy Irons) "Don't be intimidated. Great knowledge often comes from the humblest origin."

If you can't beat a genius, join him! (you can't beat the chosen one!) These formulas came to me, but I don't have the proof.

A little humility goes a long way.

Srinivasa Ramanujan, Mathematical Genius, and life brought tears to my eyes.

What an absolutely, completely, and totally excellent movie! This movie touches your soul in so many different ways. People fail to realize ALL cultures and races have to fight forms of prejudice at some time or another, not just the U.S. This movie is a fabulous portrayal of the struggles a brilliant mathematician from India had to go through, all the while remaining humble and faithful, just for his formulas to be published. True story, too. Watch the movie!

G.H. Hardy recognized the exceptionally talented Ramanujan, as most of the British snobs dismissed him due to their prejudice against his South Indian heritage and humble appearance. Unfortunately, things that still happen today.

The prejudices of mankind do nothing but hinder the forward progress of our species. This was an amazing movie
Inspiring, poignant, heart-breaking. Thank you.
When I went to college to be an Electrical Engineer, I had an Indian study partner. He realized I was doing math, such as Laplace Transforms and Differential Equations, the 'American way', and was stunned at how inefficient and redundant everything was, taking me far longer to complete the homework. He taught me how to do calculus the right way, his way. Although I ran into a bit of trouble when asked to document my steps as I had to defend what was seen as witchcraft, it didn't take long before an Indian math professor came to my aid, and learning a far more efficient way to do calculus in my head made my life so much easier. Thanks again, Hitesh Patel, for teaching me the right way to treat mathematics. That was almost 25 years ago now.
