Jephthah 由妓女所生， 是个勇士。 圣经真不由人的逻辑 -- --  耶稣生在马槽。。最死心塌地跟随耶稣的是个妓女Mary Magdalene，而不是他的十二个门徒。 最早发现耶稣的复活也是她。 约书亚记中，约书亚派的探子也由妓女帮忙隐藏。 她的帮助对犹太人能进应许之地功劳大大。 犹太人历史上最著名的大卫王的母系却来自外邦人 Ruth. 耶稣也是从这个血脉传承下来等等。。。

传道书中说不能轻易许诺。 否则后果不堪设想

Ecclesiastes 5: 1-5
1. Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.

2 Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heavenand you are on earth, so let your words be few.

3 A dream comes when there are many cares, and many words mark the speech of a fool.

4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.

5 It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.


这个故事并不是传说。 士师记 11:40 calls it a yearly four-day holiday。

Judges 11:40
that each year the young women of Israel go out for four days to commemorate the daughter of Jephthah the Gileadite.
