急问，purpose of remittance

半月前给国内家人汇款，wire transfer, 今天家里人一看还没有收到。 我查看了银行账户，才发现有留的信息，说钱国内银行已收到。 他们需要“confirm the purpose of the remittance before they can apply the funds to the beneficiary".

I replied to Chase (the bank sent the transfer) "This is a gift to my 70 years old father. The money will be used for a possible spine surgery and other expenses".

我想知道这样说有问题吗？第一次用电汇，没有想到这么多波折。
