repair pipe to common area, if the pipe is just for one unit, then the unit owner shall pay to repair.
I paid repair to my downstair unit due to some leakage at pipe on his ceiling (I own the upper unit). Talk to the upper unit owner nicely and to see how much he wants to pay. Let him know, a lawsuit will prevent his selling of the unit.
