请教冰箱问题

房客抱怨冰箱不工作了，扔掉很多食物。

去看了一下，发现freezer没坏，但有很多frost。Refrigerator不冷。这是2005年的Frigidaire，上下双门的小号冰箱。

打电话问了Frigidaire Customer Service, 说这是self-defrost的。也告知可能是因为freezer通往refrigerator的通道被frost堵了，需要把里面的东西都拿出来，拔掉电插头，过几个小时完全defrost后看看。

房客很生气，说这样她没办法保存牛奶给小孩喝。

请教为什么会有这么多的frost?到底是冰箱不好，还是房客的使用有问题？现在该怎么handle房客才既合理，也不过分迁就她。这是好房客，搬进来半年，每月1号按时交租。我也是合情合理的房东，两个月前空调出了问题，我马上请人解决，没收她钱。
