I think you can use Foreign Tax Credit to avoid double taxation.

You may also be able to claim "foreign earned income deduction" (something like that, with over 80K deduction).  Use a tax software like TurboTax.  It will help you.  You may need to write a note saying that you elect to be considered as a US resident for tax purposes and are reporting world wide income, and filing joint return.
