上次询问，好像应该转，因为更多低费用的投资选择。昨天打电话给fidelity 准备转，问及有什么negatives. fidelity agent 提醒我说， 403b里的钱被ERISA 保护， Once you roll over your 403(b) funds into an IRA, they are no longer protected by ERISA. ERISA primarily governs employer-sponsored retirement plans, such as 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, and pension plans, to ensure certain standards of fairness, transparency, and security for participants.

虽然IRA里的钱也有一定的保护，比如IRA funds may not be protected by ERISA, they may still have protection under other laws, such as federal bankruptcy law and certain state laws.。 但对于很多地主担心的law suit, 这个是不被保护的。

我网上自己查了一下，有些地方说IRA里的钱如果是401K or 403b 转过去的话，可以依然被 ERISA保护。但说法不一。不知道群里有没有人做过这方面的研究。问chatGPT, 说不被保护。但chatGPT 经常性胡说八道。

但尽管IRA money 不被 ERISA保护， 但很多州有自己的法律，提供IRA里的钱的保护。比如IL：
