booking.com and Airbnb, different models

booking.com listings behave more like a hotel, you stay first and pay later.  As long as guest stay one night, they can cancel the rest of stay.  Without credit card, even major hotels would have problem get guest pay bills.  

Airbnb requires guest pay first, but guest might feel that they are locked into a lengthy stay without knowing the place suits them.
