A woman walks into a bank in New York City, says she’s going to Europe for 2 weeks, and needs to borrow $5,000.
The bank officer says they’ll need some kind of collateral, and she hands them the keys to a brand-new Rolls Royce parked in front of the bank.
The banks president and others enjoy a good laugh at the woman for using a $250,000 Rolls Royce as collateral for a $5,000 loan. A bank employee then drives the Rolls into the bank’s underground garage.
Two weeks later, the woman returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which is $25.41. The loan officer says “Miss, we are happy to have your business, but we’re a little puzzled. We checked you out, and you’re a multi-millionaire. Why would you bother to borrow $5,000?
The woman replies, “Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $25.41 and expect it to be there when I return?
