好消息--退休的开销可以很少（II)

早晨五点半闹钟就响了。今明两天的加班任务比较重，还得留点时间陪太太，只能早起。口袋里掏出零钱留给半睡半醒的太太--上午她要去逛Farmer Market,正好礼拜三我送儿子时交完路费还剩了一把零钱。自己一个人，带着早饭就进了办公室。

 

大清早的实验室静悄悄的。今天有几个试验要同时进行，所以，边热早饭边准备试验的东西。等一切就绪，七点开始处理细胞。到十一点半，学生陆陆续续进实验室，我也忙完了，正好回家吃中饭。到家一看没人。给太太一个电话：“你在哪里呢？”

 

“我还在farmer market掏宝呢。”嘈杂的背景里太太回答。

 

“哦，钱没花完不回家，是不是呀？”我打趣。

 

“我马上就回来。没想到都十二点了。”太太大概看了手机上的时间。

 

“别急。反正这会我也不饿。等你回来我们一起出去shopping，顺便吃个午餐吧。”我安慰道。

 

 

太太回家，拎着两大袋进门。两个袋子扔给我：“你喜欢的本地白桃和蟠桃，真把零钱花光了才回来。这袋你就别看了，不然又要笑话我。。。”

 

啃了两个桃子，正对我的口味--熟了但还没变软。赶紧分一半进冰箱，这是我的一半。还一半留给太太--放厨房的counter上。太太喜欢吃软的。然后就一起去shopping。

 

买了不少水果：blueberry,banana,white peach（我每天两个，太太说这个礼拜她也想多吃点，又加了十个。）；一大块Salmon fillet，两磅半；两板small sausage,太太喜欢的那种加maple syrup的；一箱啤酒；还有一些早餐的东西和今天的中午饭，一合sushi。checkout才六十不到。太太嘀咕道：“儿子不在，开销少多了，加上Farmer market的桃子，还不到80块呢。”

 

我说：“我从冰箱里拿出来一些上礼拜买的Porker shoulder steak,准备晚上炒好，够一个礼拜用，算上十块钱吧。这样一个礼拜的开销还在100以下呢。就是刚刚经过的那个退休村，包住包卫生包每天一顿饭，听说一个月需要4000。。。”

 

 

 

 

看样子，只吃饱穿暖，有望55岁退休；要舒适的退休，还得努力。：）。
