because Sun Dance Festival is not something that can help to attract Citi's main clientele.

The obvious way this guy spent that 5 million is because Batiromo is the host of a program at the Festival about "how to invest in the entertainment (or movie making) business" something like that.

This guy heads the fastest growth dept in Citi - Private banking - but he abuses his power by lavishly spending on his office decoration, corporate private jet travel, top restaurant X'mas dining with Ms Batiromo :) So he is ousted.
