去阿拉斯加前的作业

去阿拉斯加看什么?  冰川，雪山，麦金利(北美最高峰），野生动物，北极光, 北极圈(Arctic Circle, 极地), 还有夏日午夜的太阳.

Fairbanks 在６月底１２：４８AM日落，２：５７AM日出。只有２个小时没有太阳，但是由于日出前与日落后的霞光，天空一直很亮。相对而言 fairbanks 算是个＂大＂城市，还是阿拉斯加大学所在地。１２月底是１０：５９AM日出，２：４０PM日落，只有３个多小时日照时间。

在菲尔班克斯往东北走, 可以到育空河边. 沿6号阿拉斯加公路到尽头, 是一个称为Circle的地方. 每年6月15日到25日, 没有日出日落, 24小时可以看见太阳. 每年12月20日前后, 24小时不见太阳. 按定义此地应该属于极地了, 可能是旅游者最容易到达的极地地区. 此处是美国有人口常驻的最北边的市镇了(约100居民), 在育空河边, 最早是淘金的地方.

在菲尔班克斯往西北走, 沿Dalton Highway (2号阿拉斯加公路)可以到达北极圈.

在菲尔班克斯看到北极光的几率要大得多是毫无疑问的。但安格里奇甚至美国本土北部很多地区都能看到－比如密州／明州北部。这有个预告北极光的网站 http://www.gedds.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/
在安格里奇的很多酒店还可以在有北极光时叫醒你。（wunderlust）
