Reckless driving

我们住北卡在路过Virginia时被警察拦下说超速，在70mph开83mph.但因为超过80，在Virginia算recklessdriving。警察没有写罚款数额。当时我们前面有车，我们跟着，当我们质疑前面车时，他说前面没有超速。另外我们告诉他我们GPS显示是78。问他是否能提供证据，他说Virginia不要求警察提供证据。我老公记录很好，从没有超过速，请问我们是否必须出庭？要请律师吗？有没有可能只被罚款而不被判作reckless driving？出庭时间时7月3日早9点。
