1978~1982年在青岛医学院北镇分院临床医学系学习。
1986年徐荣祥辞职去北京，1987年创建北京光明中医烧伤创疡研究所，即美宝国际集团的前身。1988年他发表了“烧伤湿润暴露疗法的临床应 用”，奠定了湿润暴露疗法创始人的历史地位。

我还要问一句，徐荣祥的教授头衔是哪个单位评审聘请的？媒体报道，徐荣祥是中国著名生命科学家，这也是很特别 的，他本人也认可。我们每一个生物学家都有一个自己的专业，如生理学家、细胞学家、遗传学家等，笼统地说生命科学应该 包括了生物学、医学和农学。反正我不敢自称生命科学家，国外也没见到谁敢称自己是生命科学家。
2012年12月，徐荣祥博士基于诺贝尔将委员会错误地将体细胞转变为多能干细胞的发现归功于山中伸弥而以诽谤和不正当竞争起诉了负责评选颁发生理学或医学奖的卡罗林斯卡医学院诺贝尔评奖委员会。2013年3月，由于加州地方法院不具备对“诺奖委”的管辖权而无法受理该案，该案从美国加州高等法院转移到联邦法院。
诺奖委应诉后，做出了和解的努力，邀请徐博士会晤诺贝尔委员会并修改所发布的有关2012诺贝尔生理学或医学奖内容，但徐博士不幸于2015年4月14日突然去世，诺奖委所邀亦无法再达成。

李俐医生现任徐荣祥国家基金会 (RXXF) 主席。 李俐出生在中国山东省济南市一个知识分子家庭，从小能歌善舞，广交朋友，助人为乐。70年代初期她被选入山东省体工队武术队，任国家运动员。1978年高中毕业后，她考入中国青岛医学院北镇分院医疗系，成为中国恢复高考后的第一届应届高考生。
1982年从医学院校毕业后，李俐在济南市第四人民医院任儿科医师。她于1985年和同在济南做医生的大学同学徐荣祥结为连理。随着中国改革开放的步伐，80年代中期，徐荣祥医生与李俐医生先后辞去医院的工作去北京创业。他们从研发烧伤再生疗法，申报药品专利、商标，到申报获批中国FDA核发的第一个新药证书，李俐医生自始至终坚定不移地支持，辅助徐荣祥医生艰苦创业。

In recognition of his international leadership in the field of regenerative therapeutics and wound healing, Aristidis Veves, MD, DSc (pictured at right), serves as the first Rongxiang Xu, MD, Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, and Director of the BIDMC Rongxiang Xu, MD, Center for Regenerative Therapeutics.
Dr. Veves focuses much of his research, which also receives funding from the NIH and other agencies, on understanding what impairs wound healing in diabetic patients and using that knowledge to develop novel products that can help promote healing in patients with chronic wounds resulting from diabetes, venous ulcers, and many other serious conditions, as well as burns. Dr. Veves is focusing largely on neuropeptides, protein-like molecules that have many functions in the body. He and his collaborators at BIDMC, the Wyss Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, and other institutions are working on developing new biomaterials, such as topical dressings, that will deliver neuropeptides and other factors to wounds to help promote healing.

About the Center
The Rongxiang Xu, MD, Center for Regenerative Therapeutics also conducts collaborative bench-to-bedside research with investigators worldwide, and educates physicians and scientists internationally about new therapies and the management of the problems they treat. The center also sponsors an annual lecture by a world-renowned expert.
The center seeks to build strong partnerships, promote collaborations, and solve currently intractable clinical problems. Fostering closer connections between bench and bedside, ensuring the highest quality preclinical research, and accelerating clinical trials of promising technologies.
The center is guided by an Advisory Board and receives input from a Scientific Advisory Board comprised of leaders from within and outside of the Harvard community.
About Dr. Rongxiang Xu
Rongxiang Xu, MD (1958-2015), graduated from the Qingdao Medical College in China. Trained as a surgeon, Dr. Xu witnessed the suffering of burn patients treated with conventional therapy and was determined to develop a more effective, less painful approach. He developed new topical therapies based on botanical drugs that helped to restore the physiological structure and function of the skin, thereby dramatically reducing pain, illness, and death.
Dr. Xu’s significant contributions advanced wound therapy, saved lives, and dramatically improved the quality of life for countless patients around the world.
Over the past three decades, Dr. Xu’s research in tissue repair and regeneration led to multiple U.S. patents and the growth of his successful multi-national company, MEBO International. His scientific achievements have been acknowledged by U.S. Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George H. W. Bush. The Chinese government honored Dr. Xu for his numerous contributions with a commemorative stamp with his image.
Dr. Xu’s interest in the translation of his work to a broad group of patients was further realized through a longstanding collaboration with Aristidis Veves, MD, DSc, in the Department of Surgery at BIDMC. In recognition of Dr. Veves’s international leadership in the field of regenerative therapeutics and wound healing, he was nominated to serve as the first Rongxiang Xu, MD Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

Veves Receives Xu Professorship
Will also direct Xu Center for Regenerative Therapeutics

Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center surgeon Aristidis Veves was celebrated as the inaugural recipient of the Rongxiang Xu, MD Professorship in Surgery in the Field of Regenerative Therapeutics in a Nov. 2 ceremony at the Harvard Club of Boston.
Veves is also director of the recently launched Rongxiang Xu, MD Center for Regenerative Therapeutics at Beth Israel Deaconess.
An international leader in regenerative medicine and wound healing, Veves conducts bench to bedside research to reduce complications from diabetes, including cardiovascular disease, neuropathy and foot ulceration. His research also focuses on the interaction between obesity, diabetes and sleep apnea and the development of cardiovascular disease.
As director of the center, Veves oversees clinical, research and educational efforts in regenerative care and reconstructive surgery to improve treatments for patients with burns, wounds, lower extremity problems and other disorders of tissue repair or renewal.
Edward Hundert, dean for medical education at HMS, praised Veves as “an outstanding member of our faculty, an exceptional researcher and someone who is very deserving of this great honor.”
Veves collaborated for many years with Rongxiang Xu, an innovator in burn care and wound healing who passed away in 2015. The National Rongxiang Xu Foundation, founded by the Xu family, established the professorship and the center in Xu’s honor.
Xu and his colleagues revealed fundamental principles for regenerating adult tissues and organs and translated this knowledge into new topical therapies. Xu held many U.S. patents and founded the regenerative and restorative science-focused company MEBO International.
The professorship and the center promise to ensure that “Beth Israel Deaconess, HMS, Dr. Veves and all future incumbents of this professorship continue to advance research and further progress the treatments available for patients suffering from conditions that result in poor tissue repair and regeneration, while honoring Dr. Xu’s lifelong commitment to the field,” said Hundert.
Also speaking at the event were Elliot Chaikof, the Johnson and Johnson Professor of Surgery at HMS and surgeon-in-chief and head of the department of surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess, and Kevin Xu, Rongxiang Xu’s son and founder of the National Rongxiang Xu Foundation, as well as Veves himself.
