英译当代诗人食指 (郭路生)----“ 这是四点零八分的北京”一诗（旧作）


这是四点零八分的北京

This is Beijing at eight minutes past four .

这是四点零八分的北京，
一片手的海洋翻动；
这是四点零八分的北京，
一声雄伟的汽笛长鸣。

This is  Beijing at eight minutes past four .
A sea of waving hands is seething with excitement;
This is  Beijing at  eight minutes past four .
A train whistle resounds a long majestic echo.

北京车站高大的建筑，
突然一阵剧烈的抖动。
我双眼吃惊地望着窗外，
不知发生了什么事情。

The tall buildings at Beijing railway station,
Start to shake violently and suddenly.
I’m surprised to look out the train window,
And do not know what’s happening to me now.


我的心骤然一阵疼痛，一定是
妈妈缀扣子的针线穿透了心胸。
这时，我的心变成了一只风筝，
风筝的线绳就在妈妈手中。

My heart gets a sudden burst of pain, it must be
The buttons- sewing needle and thread that pierced my mother's heart .
At this time, my heart is turning into a kite,
My mother’s hands are gripping the kite’s cord




线绳绷得太紧了，就要扯断了，
我不得不把头探出车厢的窗棂。
直到这时，直到这时候，
我才明白发生了什么事情。

As the cord is stretched too tightly, so that it is getting ripped ,
I have to stuck my head out of the carriage window frame.
Until this time, up until this time,
I realize what has happened.


--一阵阵告别的声浪，
就要卷走车站；
北京在我的脚下，
已经缓缓地移动。

A wave of farewell,
Will sweep the station away;
Beijing has been moving slowly
From the ground under my feet.


我再次向北京挥动手臂，
想一把抓住他的衣领，
然后对她大声地叫喊：
永远记着我，妈妈啊，北京！

I once again wave my arms at Beijing,
And want to grab her by the collar,
Then I’ll shout at her loudly:
Ah, Beijing ,my mother,I hope you will always remember me !






终于抓住了什么东西，
管他是谁的手，不能松，
因为这是我的北京，
这是我的最后的北京。

I finally caught something,
I can’t loosen my grip on hands whose ever hands they are,.
It is my Beijing,
Because this is my last Beijing.

食指这首诗不是严格意义上的押韵的诗,应该是一首自由诗.按自由诗译,没有韵脚.

但凡喜欢或读过中国当代诗歌的人，无一不知道诗人食指。
　　提起食指（原名郭路生）(1948---)，人们首先想到的是《相信未来》、《这是四点零八分的北京》这些著名的诗章。他才华横溢，影响深远，在中国上个世纪60至70年代，开新诗历史之先河，一个全新的文学流派“朦胧诗”（有人叫新潮诗），在中国文坛应运而生。有人说，食指是中国当代新诗第一人；有人说，食指是中国朦胧体诗歌的创始人；更有人不乏景仰地把诗人食指称为一代诗魂，因为他的诗歌曾经那么深地影响、鼓励、陶冶过整整一代人。
