【故国神游】香港大学掌故两则

（一）蜕变

廿世纪七十年代末期的香港大学，正从英国殖民地模式蜕变出来。七十年代初期及中期如火如荼的学生运动已沉寂下来。当日亲华与亲英两派激烈竞争学生会领导权，无墙不贴中英文大字报，互相攻讦的场面一去不复返。学生会主席选举半冷不热。大家埋首书堆，似乎不问世事。例外的是、有为数不多、主要来自社会科学院 Social Sciences Faculty 的学生开始积极投身社区服务，改善民生。其中最为活跃的一员是日后成为香港特首的郑月娥。据家母回忆，郑月娥品学兼优，虽然说不上漂亮，但是待人接物，有淑女风范，谈吐自然得体。她如其他港大学生一样，广东话夾着英语跟家母聊天或对话。郑氏的类型，正是香港政府精英架构里的精英人选，意思即是明日的政务官（后改称政务主任 Administrative Officer AO）。果然，毕业后她成功登上了AO仕途。


（二）宿舍‘’屈蛇‘’

港大术语“屈蛇”，文雅些说，就是“龙蛇之蛰，以存身也”的蛰。蛰者缩也。缩，即屈。在港大学生宿舍屈蛇之辈，就是黑户，潜居兼僭占宿位。当然，有好同窗包庇啦。包庇手法是邀请屈蛇者到其宿舍单位一起研习。事实上，在考试前、屈蛇者确是急需宿舍的，否则便会在往返港大途上浪费宝贵的时间。况且，穷学生的居处嘈杂，狭小，不宜专心预备升级考试。家母有宿位，人缘好，殷勤照顾屈蛇姊妹们，自然不在话下。
