The Road not taken

By Robert Frost Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both the morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Analysis and comments We have choices to make in our life, major or small. We shall not afraid to take the risk, and choose the road less traveled by.This poem is often used in graduation ceremonies and often cited by some successful people.

在黄色的丛林里,路分成了两条小径,
很遗憾,我一个人不能同时走两条,
我长时间地驻足,尽力向其中的一条望去,
一直看到它在丛林深处转弯;

而后,仅仅是为了公平,我又向另一条看去,
这一条似乎景色更美,
因为它绿色葱郁而且装点得十分入眼,
尽管好像走过两条小径花的时间几乎是一样的,

在早上,两条小径同样铺满了树叶,未曾被人踏过,
哦,我要把前一条小径留给下一次走!
我心里知道这条路会把我引领到哪里,
所以我怀疑我是否还会回来。

我要伤感地把这样一件事传达给遥远的地方:
在丛林里一条路分成了两条小径,
我选择了人走得少的那条,
其结果竟是完全的不同。
