很久以前听过这首歌，歌词非常质朴感人。但总觉得是民歌，可能不太适合我唱。母亲节来临之际，选来选去还是最想唱这首，特别是记起沅湘曾贴过这首歌的英文翻译。
先录了几遍中文版的，等唱得较熟了，就拿来英文歌词试了试，发现沅湘把这首歌词翻译得同中文版一样感人。甚至有些地方我更喜欢英文的词。
今天就把花了两晚上时间的中文版和英文初版贴上来，请大家欣赏点评。没有听过任何英文版本的演唱，那就自己发挥了。虽然花了不少功夫，但很喜欢这极具新鲜和挑战的尝试。为了演唱发音的需要，有些地方做了一点改动。还请沅湘多多原谅和指教了。 这算不算半个“原创”呢？：）
